Technical Overview
Thomas Sanderson Silhouette blinds are a fabric window covering so revolutionary that it controls light without sacrificing privacy – tilt, raise or lower your blind using the remote control. Simply, it’s a roller blind and venetian blind all in one! By rotating the vanes, enjoy the softness of sheer fabric but with the control of light intensities. This stunning blind provides colour and texture, as well as total light control and privacy.
Hardware
Head rail and bottom rail are extruded aluminium, then powder-coated, available in 11 colours that co-ordinate with the chosen fabric.
Design options
Only the highest quality fabrics are used to create Silhouette Blinds. The fabric consists of 3 opacities of fine woven pure polyester fused together to create soft horizontal opaque vanes suspended between two grades of sheer panels, front and back. Fabrics are available in 25 colours, four styles of weave with a choice of vane size of 50mm or 75mm
Motorised lift and turn
The ultra quiet 12v rotary motor lifts/extends the blind and tilts the vanes. The motor is powered by 8x AA batteries, easily accessible for convenience. The batteries offer over 1 year’s use (tilt open and closed twice a day) before a battery change is required. There is an option to have the blinds plugged to a mains transformer.
Battery remote control
Operation is via Infra-red, controlled by a simple two channel handset. Multiple blinds can be controlled from one handset if desired. For further convenience, a small switch is located at one end of the headrail giving additional control.
Intermediate stop
An intermediate stop position allows the user to set the blind to a desired height anywhere between open and closed. After programming the ‘intermediate position’ the blind will remember this and always stop at this programmed position. The blind can still be fully extended or retracted from this position.
Loop cord option
Manual operation is available and offered only where sizes are either outside the operational capacity of the motor, or too small in width to accommodate a motor. The blind is operated by a colour co-ordinated loop cord fitted to the blind (when loop cords are requested longer than 1800mm, they have to be made specially and have a default colour of white only).
Fit
Silhouette blinds are available to be surface mounted, flush or rebated.
Facette Blinds
Facette blinds are a stunning fabric alternative to traditional venetian and roller blinds. Crafted from lightweight sheer fabrics, facette shades combine horizontal opaque and transparent strips, meticulously woven together to form a double layered blind.
The unique design of facette blinds allows the front layer to move independently of the back, allowing the horizontal strips to move between one another for maximum control over light.
Available in 17 colours, facette blinds help soften excess daylight by reducing glare and light entering the room. And just like traditional roller blinds, facette shades can be raised or lowered to the desired height in the window with ease.
The Finish
Thomas Sanderson facette shades are a stylish, yet practical manual window blind. The cleverly designed opaque and transparent strips are meticulously woven together to form a double layered blind, allowing the front strips to move independently of the back, giving you total control over light and shade.
